Two-factor authentication adds a second check at sign-in: on top of your password, you enter a six-digit code generated on your phone. You will need a TOTP authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator.
Step 1 - Open settings
Click the Account icon in the sidebar.
Select Account settings.
Open Profile and password.
The Account icon at the top of the right-hand rail opens Account settings.
Step 2 - Scan the QR code
If you have not done so yet, fill in your profile and click Save profile - 2FA is enabled on a complete profile.
In the Two-factor authentication section, scan the QR code with Google Authenticator (or your preferred authenticator app).
Can’t scan the code? The authenticator secret is shown in plain text below the QR code - enter it manually in your app.

Step 3 - Enter the code
Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app in the field provided.
The status changes from Disabled to Enabled: 2FA is now active.
Once the code is accepted the status reads Enabled and Backup recovery codes becomes available.
Generate your backup recovery codes
Once 2FA is enabled, the Backup recovery codes section lets you generate emergency codes. Store them somewhere safe: they are the only way back in if you lose access to your authenticator app - when you change phone, for instance.
Turning 2FA off
